Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong and Tim Armstrong of Rancid have teamed up on a new single.
If There Was Ever a Time recently featured in the Turn It Around: The Story of East Bay Punk documentary and will be released on July 28, with all proceeds set to go to 924 Gilman, a DIY, nonprofit venue in Berkeley, California. The track also features Joey Armstrong, Billie Joe's son, of SWMRs and Rey Armstrong, who's Tim's nephew.
Speaking about the collaboration, Billie Joe said:
"Anything that has to do with working with Gilman and Tim and Joey Armstrong, consider me in. This is about our home and family. Viva Armstrong!"
Tim added:
"It was exciting to work on this song with Billie and crew for the film. Stoked to share the tune with everyone out there and to be donating all the proceeds to Gilman, which is a place so near, dear, and important to us."
