Mavis Staples Releases Jeff Tweedy-Produced Charity Single All In It Together

Mavis Staples has released a charity single.
All In It Together was produced by Jeff Tweedy and also features the Wilco frontman on backing vocals. Discussing the largely country-rock track, Staples said:
“The song speaks to what we're going through now - everyone is in this together, whether you like it or not. It doesn't matter how much money you have, what race or sex you are, where you live...it can still touch you. It's hit so many people in our country and around the world in such a horrible way and I just hope this song can bring a little light to the darkness. We will get through this, but we're going to have to do it together. If this song is able to bring any happiness or relief to anyone out there in even the smallest way, I wanted to make sure that I helped to do that.”
All proceeds from the sale of the song will go to My Block, My Hood, My City, a Chicago organisation ensuring seniors have access to the essentials needed to fight the coronavirus COVID-19.
This is not the first time Tweedy and Staples have teamed up, having previously worked together on 2010's 'You Are Not Alone', 2013's 'One True Vine', and 2017's 'If All I Was Was Black'.
Staples is set to return to the UK in June for two headline London shows and a set at the inaugural Kite Festival in Oxford.
