Muncie Girls' Lande Hekt will release her debut solo album in 2021.

'Going To Hell' is set to arrive on January 22 through Get Better Records and documents the vocalist and guitarist's experience coming out as gay. Hekt plays all instruments on the record, except percussion.

It was recorded by her friend Ben David from the Hard Aches in the Australian Adelaide Hills while Hekt was touring solo with him in February, just before the COVID-19 lockdown began. He also produced her first solo EP, 2019's 'Gigantic Disappointment'.

The news arrives with the release of Whiskey, a more stripped-down fare than the bustling drums and power-pop chords of the Exeter indie-punk trio. Hekt said:

"This song is essentially about how there were so many things that didn’t feel right in my life. It’s about learning how to come to terms with being gay or, more accurately, realising that pretending you’re not gay can’t go on forever."

'Going To Hell' tracklist:

1. Whiskey
2. 80 Days Of Rain
3. Hannover
4. Winter Coat
5. Undone
6. December
7. Stranded In Berlin
8. Impending Doom
9.Candle
10. Going To Hell
11. In The Darkness
