Superchunk have shared details of their 12th studio album.

'Wild Loneliness' will arrive on February 25 and boasts special guest collaborations with Sharon Van Etten, R.E.M.'s Mike Mills, Wye Oak's Andy Stack, Camera Obscura's Tracyanne Campbell, Owen Pallett, Kelly Pratt, and Franklin Bruno.

Recorded during the peak of the COVID-19 lockdown period at their North Carolina home, the LP is previewed by the lead single Endless Summer, an upbeat, infectious power-pop track featuring additional vocal harmonies from Teenage Fanclub's Norman Blake and Raymond McGinley. It's also available as a limited edition 7" single on yellow vinyl, backed with a cover of The Glands' When I Laugh featuring William Tyler on guitar. Superchunk's Mac McCaughan commented:

"Endless Summer was written on New Year's Day 2020 which was unseasonably warm here in North Carolina. Of course, by the time we recorded it, endless summer had other meanings… The 7" sleeve features Roe Ethridge's beautiful photos of broken beach umbrellas which capture the vibe of the song perfectly."

The news comes alongside a newly mapped out North American tour for spring 2022. Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time on December 10. Head here for details.

1. City Of The Dead

3. On The Floor

5. Set It Aside
