Reverend And The Makers Share New Single Heatwave In The Cold North

Monday, 22 August 2022 Written by Jon Stickler

Reverend And The Makers have shared a new single, Heatwave In The Cold North.

The track embodies the Sheffield band's new northern soul direction, with catchy lyrics, strings, and sun-drenched, funk-inspired guitar melodies reminiscent of '70s summer pop hits.

Vocalist Jon 'Rev' McClure described it as, "lazing around on a sunny day with your lover getting stoned. Imagine if Barry White lived in Sheffield and you're getting there."

It marks the group's first new music in five years, and the first preview of their forthcoming seventh studio album, the follow-up to 2017's 'The Death Of A King'.
