The Automatic Promise Live TV Appearance To Remember

Sunday, 11 June 2006 Written by Stereoboard.com
ImageThe Automatic are lining up a festival performance to remember after producers of the T4 'On The Beach' event told the band they will be forced to mime.

The Welsh teenage punk rock band have also hinted that they may even perform under the influence to protest at the decision.

Singer Rob Hawkins told the Daily Star, "I didn't want to mime but it's meant to be a festival so we will definitely be putting on a festival performance."

"Will we go on drunk? Let's just say there will be some interesting dancing going on as we aren't allowed to plug in our instruments."

The event will be screened live on Channel 4 from Weston-Super-Mare next Saturday (June 18th).

The Automatic's debut album 'Not Accepted Anywhere' is out on Monday, meanwhile their new single 'Monster' has climed to Number 4 in the UK singles charts, up 19 places from it's download only sales of last week.
