Jet have revealed details for their eagerly-awaited new album.
The Australian rockers will release 'Shine On' on October 2nd, with new single 'Put Your Money where Your Mouth Is' out on September 18th.
The band shot to fame in 2003 with the release of their debut album 'Get Born', which went on to break the band worldwide with the hit singles 'Are You Gonna Be My Girl', 'Look What You've Done' and 'Cold Hard Bitch'.
'Shine On', a title dedicated to the Cester brothers late father, was recorded in Barbados, Massachusetts and Los Angeles with producer Dave Sardy.
Frontman Nik Cester told MTV: "There's a song on the album called 'Shine On' that I wrote about my father, who passed away two years ago, so it's a bit of a tribute to him," he explained.
"And there's a theme that kind of runs through a lot of the songs. A lot of them deal with what we went through over the last two years, and it just fit."
He continued: "We wanted to make sure this was five times better than the first record, and it is. The first time around I think we didn't go places, like using orchestrations and any additional instrumentation. So we had someplace to go this time - it's a bit more lush, I suppose."
Drummer Chris Cester declared the bands ambition for the album by saying: "The first album was written for pubs. This one is written for stadiums!"
Although no confirmed tracklisting for the album, songs likely to feature include 'Stand Up', 'That's All Lies', 'Holiday' and the title-track 'Shine On'.
Jet will return to the UK for the Carling Weekend: Reading And Leeds Festivals next month.
