Stereophonics To Reissue Debut and New Album The Best Yet?

Wednesday, 03 January 2007 Written by Stereoboard.com
ImageStereophonics are set to reissue their debut album 'Word Gets Around'.

The band will reissue the album on March 5th to celebrate it's 10th birthday since its original release in August 1997, the date has been brought forward so that it doesn't clash with the release of the band's sixth studio album in the Autumn.

Along with the original album, the anniversary edition will feature a bonus disc containing the B-sides from the WGA era along with some unseen photographs from the time. The bonus CD will also feature a punk version of 'She Takes Her Clothes Off', one of the band's earliest known tracks.

ImageThe band have recently been in the studio laying down tracks for the bands follow-up to 2005's 'Language. Sex. Violence. Other?', which we understand will be titled 'Cries on Hope St' (an anagram of Stereophonics) and is set for release later on in the year.

Kelly Jones believes the new album will be their best yet, he said: "In a nutshell - people love this new record. The word is - it's probably our best yet, and I have to admit I fuckin agree ha ha - it's having it!!

"I will wipe the floor with all these two song albums that are kicking about at the moment, all these bands that are more like imitation bands more concered for a big careers than a big heart and soul...don't get me started."
