One of the true mavericks of the dance world, DJ Yoda is due to head back out onto the road for a spectacular show which is set to combine audio and visual elements as never before.
There are few DJs like DJ Yoda. Real name Duncan Beiny, the turntablist has crafted his own unique style that combines a near OCD like attention to detail with a cheeky sense of humour. Firing between tracks, style and genres with child-like glee DJ Yoda has a cult following that extends far beyond a dance audience.
Cutting his teeth on the hip hop scene, DJ Yoda broke out with his first full length album 'The Amazing Adventures Of DJ Yoda'. The turntablist has also released a series of mixtapes, with the long running 'How To Cut And Paste' series gaining a cult following.
However DJ Yoda's new venture may well be his most ambitious move to date. DJ Yoda?s National Video Vacation is a 90 minute non-stop blast of spontaneity that effortlessly blends audio and visual presentation.
The follow up to last year's celebrated tour 'Magic Cinema Show' DJ Yoda is keeping the exact details of the shows under wraps. However given the spectacular nature of his live show, and his usually frenetic mixes, it could well become one of the dance events of the year.
DJ Yoda has been slipping underground grooves next to Sesame Street rave and mixing up Alan Sugar with electro, hip-hop and dubstep beats. Taking his unique talents to the next level, the DJ will splice up choice sounds with bizarre videos from the depths of YouTube.
With his new mixtape 'How To Cut And Paste Country & Western Edition' stunning fans, DJ Yoda has already begun work on the next groundbreaking edition of the series. Set to reveal more than a few secrets on the upcoming tour, 'National Video Vacation' could well be one of the most spectacular twists of this deeply individual career.
