Muse have announced the release date for their new album will be September 14th.
Entitled 'The Resistance', it will be the bands fifth studio effort and the follow-up to the critically acclaimed 2007 album 'Black Holes and Revelations'.
"A symphonic album has turned up here," said frontman Matt Bellamy recently, "like a full collaboration with an orchestra. There's definitely a few things on the album which are segueing into each other and it's all very orchestral, but that could take over the album, so it could actually be kind of classical act basically, and move away from rock all together."
'The Resistance' was recorded in Italy and produced by Mark 'Spike' Stent; who has most notably worked in the past with musical luminaries such as Depeche Mode and Oasis.
The news was revealed this morning on the bands official website, muse.mu, also noting that more info and a tracklisting will follow in due course.
Muse will be on tour throughout Europe later this year in support of the album, playing no less than 30 european gigs. They'll be hitting the following UK & Ireland cities in November 2009:
Nov 4th - Sheffield Arena
Nov 5th - Liverpool Echo Arena
Nov 6th - Dublin O2 Depot
Nov 9th - Glasgow SECC
Nov 10th - Birmingham NIA
Nov 12th - London 02 Arena
Nov 13th - London 02 Arena
