Stereophonics Cardiff Castle Tickets Sell Out in 40 Minutes E-mail

ImageStereophonics homecoming gig at Cardiff Castle on October 3rd sold out this morning in less than 40 minutes.

Hundreds, possibly thousands, of fans were left disappointed after queuing all morning only to be confronted with the dreaded sold out message.

The Cardiff Castle venue holds a 10,000 capacity licence and See Tickets, who provided the fulfilment for the gig, could not keep up with the unprecedented demand for tickets as users were left refreshing a queue page - which ultimately proved futile.

The gig is the first time the band as returned to the venue since their ground breaking show back in 1998.

Tickets for the one-off show in October were frozen at their June 1998 prices, at a respectable £12.50 + booking fees.

Stereophonics return to the scene in November with their seventh studio album, 'Keep Calm and Carry On', which is set to be released on November 16th. A full Stereophonics UK Arena tour, we understand is currently in the pipeline - and should be announced in the next few weeks.

Tickets for the Cardiff Castle show will surely appear on the secondary market, they've already started appearing on Ebay for £100 a ticket. Based on demand, tickets are expected to sell for an average of £60 a ticket.

If you are planning to buy tickets from other fans please compare tickets first with Stereoboard.com to find the best prices - all our trusted fan-to-fan exchanges offer a full 100% money back guarantee in the event of cancellation or non-delivery. Click Here to Buy & Compare Stereophonics Tickets

Paul  - The usual See Tickets performance ...   |06/10/2009 16:01:14
Guys,

you must not buy many tickets for gigs then if you expected the See Tickets web site to behave any differently.

The whole site/company is a joke - think yourself lucky they were E-Tickets as that's just about the only way anything from See ever turns up ...
Angela  - stereophonics tickets   |02/10/2009 19:44:26

I got 4 tickets, and my brother and his girlfriend cant actual make it any more, plus the train fare there is 188 pounds each from cumbria, so too all the people who dont like them being sold on ebay at least it gives people the chance to go, and if they are prepared to pay the price leave it to them! I will on the other hand love th gig seen them twice before.... come on cardiff!!!
Stupross  - ditto   |10/09/2009 19:42:59

carl f  - strange and surprised   |10/09/2009 14:52:53
after only finding out about the gig on wednesday night i got a ticket this morning ( thursday) straight away through the see tickets website, must of being refused cards and returns etc or is something dodgy about it as there were people trying ages on the day and didnt get any and i got 1 after 2 mins of trying the day after
Dawn  - annoyed   |10/09/2009 09:33:00
Same happened to me entered all details and then had error screen, got through on the phone at about 9.40 and some idiot told me that he don't think anyone had been able to buy tickets by then as they were having problems and to keep trying!!!!!!!Looking on Ebay and wondering did any fans happen to buy tickets or just greedy people selling them on and ripping true fans off ??
chrissy p  - Disappointed and annoyed!   |10/09/2009 09:29:01
Like everyone else was clicking the refresh page like an idiot for 45 minutes with no joy. Shame the electronic age couldnt let people in as they presented to the queue as happens on a phone line, this at least guarantees equity. Can't believe the prices the tickets are being offerred for on EBay this morning! It shouldnt be allowed.
Phil Jones  - Ticket joke!!   |09/09/2009 22:24:38
People buying tickets to sell on e-bay should be banned! Its happening far too often. No more than 2 tickets per person may help. Many genuine fans do not get a ticket without being ripped off by somebody else who dosent even want a ticket!!
Paulie Bass Master  - Phonics Cardiff Castle   |09/09/2009 18:13:43
I too was sat at work, refrshing the page every couple of seconds (Sod waiting for the automatic 20second refresh).
It took me 35minutes before I finally got through. Got 4 tickets for me and some very relieved mates.
Cardiff will Rock!
GAVIN HOLMES  - stereophonics (Gig) Cardiff   |09/09/2009 14:36:21
8) JUST TO LET YOU ALL KNOW I AM A MEGA FAN, AND WE WILL ALL ENJOY THE GIG.
MIXED THOUGHTS VIA PREVIOUS MESSAGE SORRY!!

KELLY ROCKS!!!
SAID THE WIFE!!
Danman   |09/09/2009 14:08:02
wanna sell any?
Rhys  - shambolic   |09/09/2009 13:29:43
managed to get through to the payment screen where i entered my details and as i clicked confirm order an error message was displayed telling me to call a certain number which took 2 and half hours due to me being cut off everytime i tried phoning and by the time i did get through my tickets had gone...gutted!!
Dan  - Re: Refresh   |09/09/2009 13:24:41
Wezley, wish I'd read your comment this morning! Might have got a ticket instead of funny looks from my work mates for screaming at the computer.
Wayne  - Not a con   |09/09/2009 12:09:36
Richard it was not a con as stated below your post...the tickets where printable meaning the lucky few who got tickts are able (if the choose) to sell them straight away. I got 6 yippeee...I was at the 1998 Castle gig so this will be reliving the day!
wezley morgan  - refresh refresh refresh   |09/09/2009 12:02:48
managed to get tickets by refreshing the page continually, the connection timed out 5 times on me then the site said the tickets were no longer available. despite this i managed to get some 5mins later. never trust what the site says, i reckon they were just saying it to un-clog the website.
nige  - Paperless tickets   |09/09/2009 10:39:38
Hi Richard,

the tickets were apparently the paperless types - i.e print out the tickets and walk in to the event - i think each ticket has a barcode which they scan at the door.
richard birt  - what a joke   |09/09/2009 10:24:00
Waited for 50mins before being told gig was sold out, but tickets were already being sold on e-bay for £50 each and tickets were in hand ready to be sent to winning bidder "STRANGE" or what a CON? :x :?:
