The Banshee is an Irish she-spirit that wails on the rooftops of the houses of those about to die. Deloris O’Riorden is the Irish she-singer for an awesome Irish rock band who hadn’t played together in nearly a decade. There is no real connection between the two, which begs the question: why mention it at all? While we’re pondering that, news just in: the Cranberries are performing again for the first time in 7 years! Click here for tickets.
“I’ve decided to reunite with my former band members in The Cranberries and we will be writing new songs and performing tracks off my new album as well as our greatest hits during the shows. I’d love to see you out there”, O’Riordan told press.
Led by ‘Linger’, The Cranberries debut album ‘Everybody Else Is Doing It’, made number one in Britain. The follow-up, the amazing ‘No Need To Argue’ cemented the group’s popularity with such tracks as ‘Ridiculous Thoughts’, ‘Ode to My Family’ and of course ‘Zombie’, with their tarnks and their barms and their barms and their garns…
They will perform a special UK show at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Wednesday 31st March 2010.
