Dave Matthews Band UK Tour & Tickets Announced |

While it sounds like it might be ruled with an iron fist by a tyrannical Dave Matthews (Dave: “I say we do play in chickens suits, what’s the name of this band again?”) the band was actually named by accident and is a musical democracy. Boasting band members with roots in different musical styles, DMB has elements of Blues, Soul, Afrobeat and Jazz. Click here for tickets.
Dave Matthews was effectively shoved onstage in 1991, where he discovered a taste for the crowd and the limelight and hasn’t looked back since. DMB released their first album, ‘Remember Two Things’ on their own label in 1993 and it sold and kept selling, then sold a bit more.
Winning a Grammy for Best Vocal Performance in 97, they went on to be nominated for another eleven. They’ve also got the horn for charity; this year, they performed in support of Obama’s campaign, played a benefit show for the Seeds of Compassion Initiative and contributed to Jack Johnson’s campaign to improve Hawaii’s education system. To balance this do-gooding out, they’ve announced that next year they’ll be mostly stamping on puppies.
