Bloc Party have hinted that they may take a prolonged hiatus after their current UK tour.
Drummer Matt Tong revealed that the band will go their separate ways and work on individual projects.
Tong said, "We definitely need to have a break and gain a bit of perspective on life outside of the band. Hopefully if we do reconvene at some point in the future we'll be refreshed and have so many ideas to bring to what it is we do."
"I definitely don't think this will be the last you'll hear of the people who make up Bloc Party. Kele is an insatiable workaholic and creating is something he is so connected to so you'll definitely hear from him again along with Russell and Gordon also.
"As for me I don't know, I wouldn't mind trying something else for a while."
The band released their latest album 'Intimacy' in 2008 and are currently touring the UK. They have the following tour dates remaining:
22nd Oct - Truro Hall for Cornwall
23rd Oct - Plymouth Pavilions
24th Oct - Brighton Centre
26th Oct - Southend Cliffs Pavilion
27th Oct - Cambridge Corn Exchange
28th Oct - Nottingham Rock City
30th Oct - Reading Rivermead
31st Oct - Bournemouth BIC
Bloc Party cancelled a gig in Newport last week, after Russell Lissack needed to undergo a medical procedure, and hundreds of fans were left disappointed with the band unable to reschedule the show.
