Helsinki Goth rockers HIM are taking their brooding, blood-curdling but darkly romantic selves on the road in support of their New album ‘Screamworks: Love in Theory & Practice’. One of the world’s biggest cult bands (that’s cult), 2010 sees the return of HIM’s inimitable brand of brooding metallic romance. Apparently, the new album retains HIM’s gothic atmosphere but places a greater emphasis on the immediacy of the songs. Produced by Matt Squire (Panic At The Disco, Taking Back Sunday), the album streamlines the quartet’s finest attributes into their most accessible work to date and looks set to propel them into the mainstream.
HIM are the world’s first Finnish band to earn a RIAA Gold-certified album. The band have also had two UK Top 10 hits with ‘Solitary Man’ and ‘Wings of a Butterfly’, The new single , ‘Heartkiller.’ Will be released on feb 1st, before the album.
Fronted by the charismatic Ville Valo, HIM have headlined the Give It A Name festival and been third on the bill to Black Sabbath and Velvet Revolver at Download. Not content with that, they made a guest appearance with Metallica at a rather large Wembley Stadium show.
