The man, the legend, the craggy ex front man of The Jam and Style Council, Paul Weller has announced he’s playing two nights at the Albert Hall. These tickets will sell out so fast that scientists will be able to discover new and mysterious things about the universe from studying their super-speedy movements. Take that, Large Hadron Collider. The last time Paul Weller and his band played at the Royal Albert Hall was 2004… That’s the kind of fact you have to report in these tour date announcements. I’m not sure why really. No-one’s going to say: “2004, ooo, fancy that! Here, Harry, come in here and read this. 2004, eh? F*ck me”; it’s just not that interesting a fact. Still, it’s what you do.
A good thing to report is that Weller has done a track featuring that bloke from ‘My Bloody Valentine’. It’s called ‘7 & 3 Is the Strikers’ Name’ and you can download it for free from paulweller.com.
