Legendary 1970’s act Crosby, Stills & Nash have announced a rare UK tour which will see the group play four dates in Ireland, London and Liverpool in July later this year.
Noted for their intricate vocals, often stormy in-band relationships, political activism and their huge lasting influence on music and culture, their three part harmonies and inspired song-writing has been delighting fans all around the world for over three decades.
David Crosby of The Byrds, Stephen Stills of Buffalo Springfield and Graham Nash of the Hollies joined together in 1968 and wasted no time in recording their self-titled debut album. A hugely popular record it mixed folk, pop and rock all the while keeping within the times.
There was a period in the 70s when few would have laid odds on all three still being alive today, let alone still playing together, however despite the rocky relationships and the rock ‘n’ roll lifestyles they were inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall Of Fame in 1997 and are recognised as a huge contribution to American popular music.
Still going strong, Crosby Still & Nash recently released their 2009 album ‘Demos’, an album made up of demo recordings of popular group and solo songs. They also performed at the Glastonbury Festival last year where Stephen Still was praised for his exceptional guitar playing.
Last July the trio also headlined the 14th annual American Gathering Of The Vibes Festival. Halfway through their set they enthusiastically announced to the crowd that they would be back next year. Looks as though they are keeping their promise!
Crosby Still and Nash will play the following UK dates:
July 2010
1st The O2, Dublin
3rd Royal Albert Hall, London
4th Royal Albert Hall, London
7th Liverpool Echo Arena, Liverpool
Tickets are available from 9am on Friday 26th February priced from £40.00. The London shows are priced from £55.00.
