Dream Theater Tickets & Tour Dates 2014
Dream Theater are an American prog-rock band hailing from Long Island, New York. Formed in 1985, they’re one of the genre’s most successful and popular outfits - they don't come much bigger than Dream Theater.
Their almost 30 year-long career has seen them clock up over 12 million album sales across the world, and a handful of members passing through its ranks. Dream Theater currently consists of founding members John Myung and John Petrucci, alongside James LaBrie, Jordan Rudess, and Mike Mangini.
Their debut album ’When Dream and Day Unite’ came out in 1989, but it was their sophomore effort ’Images and Words’ that saw them hitting it big in the charts first. Their popularity seems to have only increased in time - they scored their first Top 10 album in 2009 with ’Black Clouds & Silver Linings’, which reached #9.
However, they are without doubt one a live band, and have spent years travelling the world on tour, embarking on lengthy stints in the bus and on planes. Their gigs are lengthy too - often clocking in at over three or four hours! 2014 will be no different: they tour in support of their recent self-titled 12th album. Check below to find tickets!

When Mike Portnoy quit Dream Theater in 2010, the seismic shockwaves that reverberated through the progressive metal community were enough to level a small city. Now, over three years later, Dream Theater have unleashed two superb albums, while Portnoy has thrown himself into a diverse range of high quality projects. Although many still mourn their split, it can be argued that the legendary drummer’s decision was actually a blessing in disguise.
Releasing a self-titled album after almost 30 years as a band may seem strange, but this record is a roaring statement of intent that embodies and expands on every element of Dream Theater's unrivalled progressive metal sorcery. As such, it's the perfect fit.
