Edwyn Collins is a indie pop singer-songwriter, musician, and producer from Edinburgh.
He is widely recognised for his smash hit single A Girl Like You. Collins formed the group Nu-Sonics in 1976, which later became Orange Juice. The band signed to Postcard Records, which he had co-founded. The band broke up in 1985, after which he pursued a solo career. He released his first solo album, ‘Hope and Despair’ in 1989, which was followed by ‘Hellbent on Compromise’ in 1990. It was 1994's ‘Gorgeous George’ that produced the song, A Girl Like You, which became a worldwide hit. ‘I'm Not Following You’, was arrived in 1997, and ‘Doctor Syntax’ came in 2002. His latest LP, 'Badbea', hit shelves in 2019. Edwyn Collins has rescheduled his headline show at Glasgow’s Kelvingrove Bandstand to August 2021 in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
