The Dandy Warhols Announce 'This Machine' Release Date

Alternative rockers The Dandy Warhols have announced that they will be releasing their latest album ‘This Machine’ on May 7th – and have lined-up three UK shows to coincide with it.

‘This Machine’ was recorded over the course of 2011 at The Dandy Warhols epic rock clubhouse-cum-entertainment megaplex/studio The Odditorium. The band recorded the album with long-time engineer and sometimes-producer Jeremy Sherrer, while it was mixed by The Black Keys collaborator Tchad Blake in the UK.

The Dandy Warhols are an American alternative rock band formed in Portland, Oregon in 1994. The band was founded by singer-guitarist Courtney Taylor-Taylor and guitarist Peter Holmström, with keyboardist Zia McCabe and drummer Eric Hedford later joining. Hedford left in 1998 and was replaced by Taylor-Taylor's cousin Brent DeBoer.

At their first gig in 1994, they were approached by Tim/Kerr Records, who offered to pay for the recording of an album. The result was 1995's ‘Dandy’s Rule OK’, which combined elements of 1960s garage rock and 1990s shoegaze music. The album impressed Capitol Records, who decided to sign the band, and in 1997 they released their second album and major label debut, ‘...The Dandy Warhols Come Down’, which produced the popular single ‘Not If You Were the Last Junkie on Earth’.

The extravagant music video was directed by celebrity fashion photographer David LaChapelle and earned them fame outside the United States. In 2001, the band rose to international attention after their song ‘Bohemian Like You’ was featured in a Vodafone advertisement. After 18 years and 8 studio albums, The Dandy Warhols are set to release their ninth studio album ‘This Machine’ coming this April.

If you’re a fan of the band, you can catch them live at one of their up and coming three UK shows they’ve lined up for this April. If you want tickets, check the dates and details below.
