The short films created by Seamus Murphy to accompany each of the 12 tracks on PJ Harvey's 'Let England Shake' album will be screened at the prestigious Hay Literary Festival on 6th June, followed by a Q&A with Seamus Murphy.
Award-winning war reportage photographer Seamus Murphy will join Dylan Jones on June 6th for a conversation to discuss the films and his collaboration with PJ Harvey.
Murphy travelled across England to create a complete visual accompaniment to Harvey’s album, combining his observations on England with images from his work in Afghanistan, Iraq and the Middle East.
Released to wide-spread acclaim in February last year, 'Let England Shake' was awarded the Barclaycard Mercury Prize for Album of the Year, NME’s Outstanding Contribution to Music 2011, the Uncut Music Award 2011, and was also nominated for a BRIT Award in the prestigious Best British Album category.
'Let England Shake' has now also been nominated for the Pop Music Award at the South Bank Sky Arts Awards 2012. The awards will take place on Tuesday 1st May and will be broadcast live Sky Arts.
