Adam Lambert Announces First UK Single Release

Taking time out of his newly acquired Queen schedule, Adam Lambert has announced the release date of his new single 'Never Close Your Eyes', the second track to be taken from his forthcoming sophomore album 'Trespassing' – and his first UK single from the album.

Following on from 'Better Than I Know Myself', which came out in the US in December, 'Never Close Your Eyes' is the first single Lambert will officially release here in the UK off the album, and hits shelves on June 24th – just a week before his second record 'Trespassing' gets a release on July 2nd.

The track was written for Lambert by none other than superstar Bruno Mars, and was produced by Dr Luke – the same man behind Katy Perry hits like 'I Kissed a Girl', 'Last Friday Night', and 'California Gurls'.

'Trespassing' has seen Lambert take on more of a songwriting role following on from his 2009 album 'For Your Entertainment', which he released following his appearance on American Idol in 2009, in which he finished as runner-up.

He's since gone on to great success, with one album already under his belt, one on the way, and a hugely sought-after position as the new frontman of legendary rockers Queen – not bad for someone who was struggling as an artist prior to his American Idol appearance.

If you're a fan of either Lambert or Queen, you can catch him alongside the band at their two London gigs in July. Check the dates and details below for more info.

Queen UK dates are as follows:

July 11th – London, Hammersmith Apollo
July 12th – London, Hammersmith Apollo
