Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg promised to bring back 2pac for their Sunday headline set at Coachella, California....And they did just that! A hologram of Tupac Shakur blessed the stage to introduce the set in front of a frenzied crowd that went into twitter overdrive.
He was back, back home in Californ-I-A, onstage with Snoop rapping along to ‘Americas Most Wanted’ and ‘Hail Mary’.
With incredible clarity, Pac walked around on stage saying “You know who the fuck this is. What up Dre. What up Snoop. What up Coachella, throw up a motherfucking finger, Makaveli in this!”
As he broke into ‘Hail Mary’, Snoop joined the late 2pac on stage to rap through the two songs. An excellent moment for hip hop, and a set that is due to be played again and again!
Then, as 2pac vanished into nothing, assuming nothing could get better than that, Eminem waltzes on stage to rap his latest collaboration with Dre - ‘I need a Doctor’.
Dre finally announced himself on stage as the duo relived ‘Forgot about Dre’. Slim Shady stayed for one more, paying tribute to Nate Dogg as he ripped through ‘Till I Collapse’.
50 Cent, Kurupt and Wiz Khalifa also joined the west coast producer and legend on stage through the set, to mark a truly memorable occasion that was reminiscent of the ‘Up in Smoke Tour’ back in 2000.
Let’s just hope Dre finally chooses to cross the pond for a UK showing! Keep your fingers crossed and pray!
