The Darkness Announce New Single & Launch New App

Lowestoft’s finest will follow the release of their third album with a new single, ‘Nothin’s Gonna Stop Us’, on 10th September 2012. ‘Hot Cakes’ is released today and has already received some outstanding reviews.
Singer Justin Hawkins commented on the song: "Nothin's Gonna Stop Us is as much a call to arms as it is a song about the day my best friend and I stole a bike when we were younger, and then promptly bumped into a policeman who give chase along Lowestoft promenade. I'm not proud of what we did, but I feel I've worked through the bad karma since then and am at the point where I can sing about it freely. Enjoy!"
The band started a worldwide tour with Lady Gaga this week, kicking-off in Bulgaria on Tuesday 14th August and the dates roll into the UK/Ireland on the 8th September before carrying on around the planet till the end of the year. They play four shows with the pop superstar and have squeezed in an intimate headline show in Glasgow before they head back out to Europe.

The Darkness have also launched a new app, which is available on the App Store and Google Play. Simply search for The Darkness or click here.
Main features include ‘The Darkness Scanner’ which transforms the users phone into a device to view exclusive snippets of content from the band themselves. Using groundbreaking image recognition technology Aurasma the content is hidden behind the album artwork, tour posters and gig tickets.
Another function is ‘The Darkness Soundboard’ which unleashes clips from the forthcoming album ‘Hot Cakes’ that can be used as ringtones, text alerts or simply to share with friends.
The app also includes official news and tweets from The Darkness, ticket buy links, the latest videos, merchandise shop, a fan wall in which fans can talk to each other and a photo gallery to which the user can add their own photos but using #TheDarkness to Instagram photos.
