Introducing: The Virginmarys Announce Release Of New Single 'Dead Man's Shoes'

The Virginmarys are set to release their new single 'Dead Man's Shoes' on 1st October, through Doublecross Records. The single will be followed by the band's debut album 'King Of Conflict'.

Having spent the last two years touring extensively, supporting the likes of Eagles Of Death Metal, Slash, Ash, We Are Scientists and Skunk Anansie, repeated headline club tours and appearances at Download and Sonisphere it’s little wonder that the likes of Kerrang have already started to fall for their ‘attitude spitting guitars’.

Such extensive touring fulfilled two of the trio’s aims, to create their own fan base away from the full glare of media hype and to make sure that they were battle ready when they recorded ‘King Of Conflict’; laying down the album live under the watchful eyes of Toby Jepson and Chris Sheldon (Pixies, Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro, etc).

Given that they have already sold out London’s Garage as an unsigned band and that the forthcoming debut album is a contender for rock record of 2013, mission accomplished on both fronts.

For those playing catch up, ‘Dead Man’s Shoes’, according to bassist Matt Rose, ‘encompasses exactly what The Virginmarys are about, it’s the ultimate Virginmary’s tune’. Concerned with self-delusion, singer and lyricist Ally describes it as a song about ‘knowing what you do is damaging but doing it anyway’. The song melds a furious rock track to a dark story.

The Virginmarys are the first signing to Cooking Vinyl’s new imprint DoubleCross. Phil Hopwood, A&R man for the label is thrilled to sign the trio: "The Virginmarys are incredible songwriters and live performers and we are very proud to be working with them. They have a high level of intensity and we feel they have the potential to be a huge international act".

The Virginmarys tour the UK in October in support of ‘Dead Man’s Shoes’.
