19 year-old pop sensation Cher Lloyd has continued her swift ascension to stardom by hitting another milestone today - after it was confirmed that her debut US single ‘Want U Back’ has been certified platinum.
The X Factor star, who’s already begun work on her second studio album, released the track in the US back in May, with hip-hop hero turned reggae rasta Snoop Dogg/Lion now featuring on a version of the track instead of rapper Astro.
Released as a digital download, it managed to reach #5 in the US Digital charts and even #12 in the Billboard Hot 100, with an alternative music video for the track proving to be popular over there. Now, it’s managed to sell over 1 million copies - certifying her debut as platinum.
In a televised celebration, Lloyd was invited onto The Today Show to perform the track - as well as album track ‘With Ur Love’ - in front of a huge crowd of screaming fans. You can check out a clip of her performance below.
