Hammerfest 5 (In Fear of the Dragon) have announced that Connecticut’s finest hard-core metal crossover act Hatebreed will join next Spring's already well received line-up .
Anyone that needs a reminder of how good Hatebreed are live should watch this clip of 'Destroy Everything' shot at With Full Force Festival.
Hot-off-the-press and just confirmed, Hammerfest would like to also welcome German Thrash Metal legends Destruction who similarly add to what is already turning into a humdinger of a line-up and similarly anyone in need of a reminder as to how good they are live should watch this live clip from Wacken playing 'Thrash Till Death'.
Joining Destruction and also from Germany are Power Metals finest Iron Saviour the band fronted by ex Gamma Ray producer Piet Sielck.
If that’s not enough still for you, Hammerfest are also dead pleased to be able to bring you LA's hottest new metal act Huntress too. To watch their video to 'Eight of Swords' click below.
Following last years performance at Hammerfest that scored a maximum ten out of ten there was no way organisers could not invite back Evil Scarecrow to host their their own alternative midnight black mass on our second stage.
Hammerfest also welcome a host of great international acts including Southern metal act Texas Hippie Coalition, (No guesses where they are from.) Finland’s most talked about new female fronted metal act Shear and Norway’s hottest guitar shredding sensation The Commander in Chief.
While moving quickly back to home-grown talent, there is a cracking bunch of hot acts to that we are pleased to announce including Def Con One, the band founded by former Venom drummer Anton Lant whom, if their new album is anything to go by, are set for much bigger things.
Also after stepping in last minute last year and putting in a stirling shift, Hammerfest felt York’s finest new metalcore act RSJ earned themselves a proper slot in 2013. Meanwhile Essex’s instrumental progressive metal virtuoso Paul Antonio Ortiz aka Chimp Spanner will also be colouring the proceedings with his unique and euphoric fusion of prog tech ambient and electro metal.
Then for those that like something more up-tempo organisers have one of the country’s best new breed of Thrash acts, Rising Records' Abadden, a band that take no prisoners and always deliver.
Winding up the last of the new acts in attendance, Hammerfest have the bulldozing dualing guitar sounds of London new metal act Driven. In addition, the more solid trad metal sounds of Black Acid Souls will also be in action.
Lastly no Hammerfest would be complete without a few old school NWOBHM acts on the bill and this year is no exception. Hammerfest are pleased to have Viscous Nature (featuring ex Clovenhoof and Marshall Law members) and Bristol’s original NWOBHM act Jaguar who will both grace the stage on Thursday night.
