Nottingham-based singer-songwriter Jake Bugg has announced further dates for his 2013 UK tour, as well as unveiling brand new music video ‘Two Fingers’.
Bugg releases his eponymously-titled debut album on 15th October alongside new single ‘Two Fingers’, and will tour the UK throughout November as well as February next year. His debut album, 14 songs long and clocking in at under 40 minutes, is sharp, observant and honest, and inhabits a world no other new UK act is currently operating in.
It opens with recent single ‘Lightning Bolt’, a scorching blues number with his Telecaster to the fore. New single ‘Two Fingers’ follows with its swaggering chorus, whilst the likes of ‘Country Song’ and ‘Broken’ are more reflective.
It’s a perfectly paced record, one that marks out Jake as the most exciting new UK act of 2012 and manages to effortlessly straddle the gap between authenticity and mainstream appeal. He counts Noel Gallagher, Lily Allen, Elton John, Chris Martin, Damon Albarn and Snow Patrol amongst his fans and has supported Michael Kiwanuka, Example and Lana Del Rey.
