Alter Bridge/Creed guitarist and songwriter Mark Tremonti is set to embark on a UK tour with his band Tremonti later this month, in support of his long-awaited debut solo album ‘All I Was’.
A single from the album, entitled ‘So You’re Afraid’, will be released on October 22nd, the video for which has just been completed.
It has also just been announced that Wolfgang Van Halen will play bass on these dates, joining Tremonti’s regular sidemen Eric Friedman (rhythm guitar) and Garrett Whitlock (drums). Always in consideration to perform in the band, he was ultimately unavailable for the album recording sessions, but jumped at the chance to join the tour.
“I am excited to be joining the band and playing this incredible music with some of my best friends in the business,” states Wolfgang.
Released in July on Tremonti’s own FRET12 label, the acclaimed ‘All I Was’ has not only returned him to his metal roots, but also seen him emerge as a lead vocalist for the very first time. Produced by longtime friend and collaborator Michael ‘Elvis’ Baskette (Alter Bridge, Trivium, Shadows Fall, Incubus), the album thrashes with a fierce intensity that is both heavy and instantly infectious.
"From day one in Creed, I'd pull out metal riffs and the guys would remind me that we weren't Slayer," says Tremonti. "Over the years, our sound got heavier. Then, Alter Bridge became even heavier than Creed. That's my foundation. It's a style that I'm really comfortable with. Now, there are no holds barred. I figured the solo album was my opportunity to get that part of myself out there without losing the sense of melody I've worked so hard to achieve.”
If you’re a fan of the band, you can catch them at some of their up and coming UK dates - they’ll be supporting Slash and Myles Kennedy at three gigs, and will also be performing three of their own headline gigs, too. For tickets to any of the shows, check the dates and links below.
