Muse's Matt Bellamy Disappointed At Lack Of 'Quiet Acoustic' Tracks On New Album

Matt Bellamy, frontman of electronic rock outfit Muse, has confessed that he is disappointed that he and his band didn’t include more acoustic, chilled out tracks on their new album ‘The 2nd Law’.
The band’s new album has seen them taking on a much more intense, dubstep-influenced sound, and there’s not much in the form of ‘acoustic’ or ‘quiet’ music on the LP at all. Speaking to The Daily Star, Bellamy admitted that he would have liked some more - and is a little bit disappointed.
"I'm disappointed that we don't have many acoustic tracks, more quiet moments,” Bellamy told the paper. “When I left the studio after having the laid the foundations for the single 'Madness' it was quite sparse. When I returned two days later, Chris and Dom Howard had put absolutely everything on it.”
Bellamy and his bandmate Chris Wolstenholme went on to talk about their status in America, saying that the band would love to emulate the US success of Coldplay - who he says are the ‘only English group to have had success’ there in recent years.
“Coldplay are the only English group to have had real success there in the last 15 years. You don't think about it when you start, you're just content to be recognized on home soil. But then you want something more.”
