Rapper Plan B Is Set To Take A Year Out Of The Limelight In Order To Live A Life Without Fandom

After three years of celebrity hood, British performer/actor among winners at the MOBO awards in Liverpool this weekend is planning on hanging up his microphone to reconnect with reality and his muse.

Following the success of two chart-topping albums, a star role in The Sweeney film and directing his own movie, the rap star plans of giving himself a 12 month holiday to help find new inspiration and material for his future career growth.

Real name Ben Drew, was crowned Best Male and Best Hop/Grime at the MOBO Awards in Liverpool’s Echo Arena on Saturday, reflecting the hard work he has brought to his fans throughout his musical career. Speaking to The Sun, "I want to take a year out from being photographed and going to shows. I’m living the dream I guess, a red carpet is rolled out everywhere I go. People treat me differently. But the only way I can keep on making music about real life is to live in normality, and the last three years I haven’t been. It’s been touring, awards shows and stuff that’s great fun — but I’m an artist and I need inspiring. It’ll be nice to get away from that celebrity circuit".

However, Drew will have to postpone his gap year until he has finished his UK arena tour in 2013, playing 11 shows across the UK beginning in Newcastle Metro Radio Arena on February 1. He has also scheduled shows in London, Bournemouth, Manchester, Plymouth, Birmingham, Glasgow, Cardiff, Nottingham, Aberdeen and Brighton.
