American rockers Jane’s Addiction have confirmed that they’re working on brand new material for what would be a fifth studio album - and they have a massive 60 tracks in the pipeline.
The news was broken by frontman Perry Farrell, who has been recovering from surgery in his home for the past two months, and comes just over a year after the band released their last album ‘The Great Escape Artist’ - which apparently disappointed Farrell.
Speaking to The Rolling Stone, Farrell revealed: “I haven't written this much or been this prolific since I started when I was in my 20s. It's been coming out fantastic. I'm super excited. Everything will really start to gel and come together probably this time next year.”
He continued: “[The Great Escape Artist] didn't make a big enough splash. If it would have made a bigger splash I would have continued [it’s themes]. It's not going to be [a continuation of] ‘The Great Escape Artist’. I had thought that it would be a great idea. However, I just came up with this other twist to doing the next record. At this point I want to start fresh with a fresh angle.”
Keep your eyes peeled on Stereoboard for more news regarding the album - we’ll let you know if any release dates or tours come are announced.
