The full music video for the brand new Hillsborough charity single ‘He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother’ has been unveiled - you can check it out below.
The single, that’s aiming to becoming the Christmas #1 next month, already boasts the likes of Robbie Williams, Mel C, Paloma Faith, Richard Hawley, Shane MacGowan, Holly Cook, Beverley Knight, and more, and has now even seen the addition of super-selling star Sir Paul McCartney.
Speaking of the single and the inclusion of Beatles star Macca, Peter Hooton said via Liverpool FC’s website: “Paul McCartney is one of - if not the - most famous sons of Liverpool, so to get him involved is fantastic. We had to keep it a secret. He only recorded it a couple of days ago and it's a very Beatles-esque guitar solo. Getting him involved was the icing on the cake, really.”
He continued: “It's not just about selling records, it's about awareness and when families come together at Christmas, this song with sentiment - this song that means something - will be in their living rooms.”
The physical edition of the track will be available from December 17th onwards, but you can help raise money for the charity by grabbing a digital copy from iTunes, Amazon, HMV, or 7 Digital now. You can also grab it by texting ‘Justice’ to 80010 (Ireland: 53600) for £1 plus your standard network rate (Ireland: €1.50 + standard network rate).
