The Rolling Stones Were NOT Fined For Overrunning O2 Arena Curfew, Says Spokesman

Legendary rockers The Rolling Stones were not fined for overrunning the curfew at their 50th anniversary gig at The O2 Arena last month, despite previous reports.
Stories cropped up across the whole media board recently, claiming that The Rolling Stones had been fined a massive £200,000 for overrunning their curfew by 35 minutes at their gig on November 25th.
But, according to a spokesperson for The O2 Arena, the band haven’t been fined a penny - and it was simply a misconstrued comment by frontman Mick Jagger that resulted in the stories of a big fine.
Jagger allegedly told fans at the gig, “We had to pay £100,000 because we went on too long,” before joking that the fine was equal to the cost of ‘like... 10 seats’.
A spokesperson has since told Live UK Magazine: “It was something [Mick Jagger] flippantly said from the stage on the second night. But as far as I'm aware, they haven’t been fined, it was a media myth.”
The 50th anniversary shows attracted a lot of controversy after ticket prices were set incredibly high, with fans having to pay between £106-406 to catch the band live this winter. Did you attend any of the shows? Let us know how they went in the comments section below.
