Rock and roll icon Dave Grohl has claimed that he and his world-beating band Foo Fighters have ‘really awesome, big plans’ for their next album.
The band cemented their place in rock history with the release of their last album ‘Wasting Light’ (which hit shelves in 2011), an album which earned them five Grammy awards and lead to one of the biggest and highest-selling tours of their career.
Although Grohl is probably one of the busiest men in rock - he recently performed with his old Nirvana bandmates and Sir Paul McCartney, has just joined a new Washington band called RDGLDGRN, and is working on new film and music project called Sound City - he’s also managed to find time to work on a brand new album with his long-term band Foo Fighters, and by the sounds of it, they haven’t rushed it either!
Speakign to MTV News, Grohl revealed: “...We have a plan, we know exactly what's coming next, and I have the music for the next record and we're going to start working on it once we finish doing all this stuff [his Sound City project]. And we have really awesome, big plans for the next album and I'm really excited about it.”
Some may have thought that a hiatus was in store for the band, especially after Grohl’s comments last September indicating that the band would not perform together for a while. But, it seems Grohl and the Foo Fighters never rest, and they’ll be back in our faces in no time at all. Stay with Stereoboard to stay up-to-date on the band - we’ll let you know if any more album news surfaces.
