V Festival Line-Up Announcement At 8pm Tonight!

Excitement amongst V Festival-goers is starting to rise this afternoon, ahead of organisers’ massive line-up announcement later today.

The wait is almost over for fans who are eager to see who’ll be headlining the events this coming August, and as you can imagine, there are countless rumours flying around the internet as to whose names will be revealed.

We’ve already written about some of the most rumoured - we posted on Saturday about the speculation that superstar singer Beyonce was one of the names that organisers have up their sleeve, fuelled by their message: “We're close to signing another big name to headline the weekend and it's almost a done deal. Let's just say it's a booking worthy of a Queen.”

Another big name that some are expecting/hoping/wishing to hear is Kings of Leon, who are busy working on what will be their sixth studio album. They haven’t hit the UK festival scene since 2011, and last appeared at V in 2010, meaning the additions of KoL wouldn’t be surprising.

In addition to Beyonce and Kings of Leon, other acts rumoured to appear at this year's V Festival include Haim, Stereophonics, and Azealia Banks. Some sites have cited Azealia as being ‘99% confirmed’ for the festival back in January, though only time will tell whether she’s signed a deal.

There haven’t been any sources telling press of Haim’s confirment, but we have read that they were being pursued by organisers. The Stereophonics have also been said to be a possible headline act - they’ve headlined V before (in 2002) and release their latest album ‘Graffiti on the Train’ on March 4th.

Rihanna was also rumoured to top the V bill but now sources say the singer will be performing at Glastonbury instead. Though V fans may not get to see RiRi, they will be seeing Rita Ora, the only act confirmed so far - after she broke the news herself in a webcast last week.

If you’re a fan, you’ve got until 8 - two hours from the time of posting - to wait until you find out who’ll definitely be playing at V Festival this year. If you’re in need of V Festival tickets, check the link below.
