UB40 are a pop and reggae act from Birmingham.
The band have released 21 studio albums to date, including their 1990 debut ’Signing Off’, which hit #2 on the UK's Official Album Chart, and their notable fourth LP, ‘Labour of Love’, which hit the top spot in 1983 and included the hit single Red Red Wine. The band put out their latest album, 'Bigga Baggariddim', in 2021. The band have faced a series of line-up changes throughout their career. Among them are frontman Ali Campbell, keyboardist Mickey Virtue and rapper Astro, who all departed the band between 2008 and 2013, going on to form the group UB40 With Ali Campbell And Astro. Astro and their longtime saxophonist Brian Travers both sadly passed away in 2021. UB40 will celebrate 45 years together with the Red Red Wine Tour which hits the UK in November 2024, following shows across North America in the summer and dates in Australia and New Zealand in October. UB40 featuring Ali Campbell is a version of the band UB40, the pop and reggae group from Birmingham.
Formed in 1978, UB40 have released 18 albums to date, including their debut, ‘Signing Off’, in 1980, ‘Labour of Love’ in 1983 and ‘Promises and Lies’ in 1993 — both of which reached #1 on the UK's Official Albums Chart — and their last LP, 2013's ‘Getting Over the Storm’. Campbell left the band in 2008, followed by Mickey Virtue, with Astro leaving in 2013. In 2014, the trio formed UB40 feat Astro, Ali Campbell and Mickey. Following the passing of Astro in 2021, they released their latest album, 'Unprecedented', in 2022. UB40 featuring Ali Campbell have confirmed an arena tour of the UK and Ireland for April 2024, ahead of headline slots at Let's Rock Leeds and Lets Rock Exeter in June, Uptown Festival in July and Summer Lovin' Live in August.
