Lil Wayne is an American hip-hop and rap star hailing from New Orleans Louisiana. Rapping from a young age Lil Wayne - real name Dwayne Carter - joined the Cash Money Records label at the age of just nine in 1991 before joining group the Hot Boys in 1996. He released records with this group for the next couple of years before releasing his platinum-selling debut record ‘Tha Block is Hot’ in 1999.

Not only is Lil Wayne one of the highest-selling rappers of all time he’s also one of the most prolific and as of September 2012 he’s had more tracks in the Billboard 200 than Elvis Presley himself (with 109 and counting).
