Olivia Newton-John was a singer and actress born in Cambridge, but raised in Melbourne, Australia.

She released ten successful albums, collaborating with the likes of Bob Dylan and George Harrison, before she shot to legendary status after starring as Sandy in Grease. The film was the biggest box office hit of 1978, with its soundtrack just as successful in itself – Newton-John became the second woman ever to have two songs (Hopelessly Devoted to You and Summer Nights)in the Top 5 of the Billboard singles charts simultaneously.

She went on to have an extraordinarily successful career, releasing a further 16 studio albums including, most recently, 'Friends for Christmas' in 2016. She has won countless awards for her acting, music and activism, including two Golden Globes, an ARIA Award, four Grammys and is the holder of 10 World Records.

She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992, which returned in 2013 and again in 2017, when she announced that the cancer had spread to her back. Olivia Newton-John died on August 8, 2022 at the age of 73, leaving behind a legacy from a truly impactful and incredible career.
