Satyricon are a Norwegian black metal band from Oslo, consisting of frontman Sigurd 'Satyr' Wongraven and drummer Kjetil-Vidar 'Frost' Haraldstad
Formed in 1991, the band released their debut album, ‘Dark Medieval Times’, in 1994, but it was their fourth album, ‘Rebel Extravaganza’, released in 1999, that saw them gain greater notoriety. ‘Volcano’ was released in 2002 and won the Norwegian Grammy for Best Metal Album. The band’s self-titled eighth album reached #1 in the Norwegian charts, and their latest release, 'Deep Calleth Upon Deep' came out im 2017. Satyricon head to Australia to tour in September 2018.
