Casino Royale is the 21st film in the James Bond series. Released in 2006 and directed by Martin Campbell, is the first film to star Daniel Craig as the fictional MI6 agent James Bond.

The film takes place at the beginning of Bond's spy career, while he is earning his licence to kill. The plot sees Bond on an assignment to bankrupt terrorist financier Le Chiffre in a high-stakes poker game, yet Bond falls in love with Vesper Lynd, a treasury employee assigned to provide the money he needs for the game.

Casino Royale won a BAFTA for Best Sound, and was nominated for eight, including Best British Film and Best Actor.
