Soilwork is a Swedish melodic death metal band from Helsingborg, consisting of Björn Strid, Sylvain Coudret, David Andersson, Sven Karlsson, Markus Wibom and Dirk Verbeuren.
Formed in 1995, as Inferior Breed, the band released their debut album, ‘Steelbath Suicide’, in 1998, followed by ‘The Chainheart Machine’ in 2000. This led to them signing with Nuclear Blast, and releasing the album, ‘A Predator's Portrait’, in 2000 and ‘Natural Born Chaos’ in 2002. The band have released a further six albums, including their latest release, 2015’s ‘The Ride Majestic’. The band have headlined their own shows and tours, as have supported the likes of Nevermore, Killswitch Engage, Children of Bodom, Shadows Fall, Dark Tranquillity and Defleshed. Soilwork co-headline a lengthy European tour with Amorphis in early 2019, including a gig at London's Islington Assembly Hall. They then head to Australia for three shows.
