Stephen Merchant is an English comedian, actor, television presenter, and writer hailing from Hanham, Bristol. Born in 1974, Merchant is best known for his work alongside fellow comedian Ricky Gervais - their work includes hit sitcom The Office, The Ricky Gervais Show, and Extras.
