The Maccabees are an indie rock band from South London, consisting of Orlando Weeks, Hugo White, Felix White, Rupert Jarvis and Sam Doyle.
Forming in 2004, the band spent three years fine-tuning their sound and writing new material until they released their debut album ‘Colour It In’ in 2007, which ended up being ranked as #24 in NME’s Best Albums of 2007. Their sophomore album, ‘Wall of Arms’, hit #13 in the UK Albums Chart in 2009, and their next album, 2012’s ‘Given to the Wild’, peaked higher again at #4. Returning with a brand new record, ‘Marks To Prove It’, in 2015, The Maccabees hit the road in support of the release running right the way through winter 2015 and 2016. My friend and I went to see The Maccabees play at the Bristol O2 Academy. What a great gig. I had only heard one album before seeing them live, I'm now a fully converted fan! So much so that we then bought Reading Festival tickets and followed them there! Awesome stuff, thanks guys!
