The Tragically Hip are a Canadian rock outfit hailing from Kingston, Ontario. Also known simply as The Hip, they’ve been crafting their unique and catchy brand of alternative rock and roll since as far back as 1983. Since then, they’ve amassed a catalogue of 12 studio albums and 54 singles, all of which have charted in the Canadian Top 20, and all have which have been certified as at least platinum in Canada.
Consisting of frontman Gordon Downie, guitarists Paul Langlois and Rob Baker, bass-player Gord Sinclair, and drummer Johnny Fay, the band are one Canada’s prized musical possessions, having won countless Canadian music awards along the way. In May 2016, the sad news that Gordon Downie had been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer was revealed to fans. However, in incredible spirit, Downie will be continuing on for a tour of their home country Canada in the summer, ahead of a brand new record, 'Man Machine Poem'.
