Alexis Taylor is a British singer-songwriter from West London.
He started his music career in 2000, as a founding member of Hot Chip. The band have released six albums, including ‘The Warning’ in 2006, which was nominated for a Mercury Music Prize and reached #34 in the UK Albums Chart. The band’s last album was 2015’s ‘Why Make Sense’. In 2008 Taylor released his debut solo album, ‘Rubbed Out’. The same year he formed an improvisational quartet, About Group. He released his second album, ‘Await Barbarians’ in 2014 and his latest release, ‘Piano’, came out in June 2016 via Moshi Moshi. After a summer of festivals and tour dates, including All Points East, Blue Dot and Festival No 6, Alexis Taylor has a charity show lined up in November for War Child UK.
