American Idiot Tickets for Theatre Shows in 2024/2025

Last Updated: 18 Apr 2018 1:16pm
If you’re a fan of Green Day and their super-successful rock opera ‘American Idiot’, then you simply have to check out this incredible musical based on it. Directed by Michael Mayer, and written by Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong himself, the story focuses on three young males - Johnny, Will, and Tunny - who flee their suburban lifestyle - and, of course, their parents.

With all of the tracks written by Armstrong and the rest of the Green Day crew (Tre Cool, Mike Dirnt), and with Armstrong occasionally playing the role of St Jimmy himself, it’s no surprise this musical picked up a Grammy in 2011. 2012 saw the musical brought to the UK for the first time.

In 2018, American Idiot reaches Australia for runs in Sydney, Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne, and Brisbane. Rock legend Phil Jamieson (Grinspoon) plays the part of St Jimmy, while Helpmann Award nominee Phoebe Panaretos is Whatsername, and more cast announcements are expected soon.

American Idiot celebrates its tenth anniversary with a UK tour throughout 2019. Catch the show live by checking out the tour dates and concert ticket information below on Stereoboard.
