The Atlanta Hawks are an American basketball team based out of Atlanta, Georgia. Founded as the Tri-Cities Blackhawks back in 1946, the team would move to Milwaukee, and then St Louis, before settling in Atlanta in 1968.
Part of the NBA's Eastern Conference Southeast Division, the Hawks' best run of success can be traced back to their pre-Atlanta days, when they won a championship and picked up four conference titles. They now own a rather less fortunate trait: they have been without a championship the longest out of any NBA team, apart from the Sacremento Kings.
