Ben l'Oncle Soul is a French soul singer-songwriter hailing from Tours, Indre-et-Loire. Interested in music throughout high-school, he joined gospel group Fitiavana but soon split off as a solo star, and soon found himself signed to Motown Records. He gained his name because of his famous bow tie, which is a nod to Uncle Ben from Uncle Ben's Rice.
His eponymous debut album hit shelves in 2010, and put him on the map, hitting #4 in France. The following year, he was invited to open the Montreal Jazz Festival to 10,000 people - a milestone in his career.
