Ben Watt is a British singer-songwriter and musician from London.
He started in music career in 1981, when he signed to Cherry Red Records, as an experimental singer and songwriter and released his debut EP, ‘Summer into Winter’ in 1982. His debut album, ‘North Marine Drive’, followed in 1983. He then formed alt-pop duo Everything But The Girl with Tracey Thorn and released nine more albums, including 1984’s ‘Eden’ and ‘Idlewild’ in 1988 that included the single, I Don’t Want To Talk About It, which reached #3 in the UK Singles Chart, ‘The Language of Life’ in 1990, ‘Amplified Heart’, in 1994, which included the single, Missing, that reached #2 in the Billboard Hot 10, and ‘Walking Wounded’ in 1996. Ben Watt released his latest solo album, ‘Fever Dream’, in April 2016. He started DJ’ing in 1998 under the name Laxy Dog. In 2013 he announced he was returning to his solo career and released the album ‘Hendra’ in 2014, which featured both Bernard Butler and David Gilmour. Watt has since proceeded to release a further two albums in the form of 2016's 'Fever Dream' and 'Storm Damage' which he dropped in January 2020.
